WHO IS BEHIND OBA?
Marcela Ferreira
Singer | Promoter | Cultural Connector
Marcela Ferreira is a Brazilian singer, event promoter, and cultural connector who has been living in Copenhagen, Denmark since 2016. A vibrant force in the Brazilian community, Marcela plays a key role in connecting and empowering people through music, social gatherings, and cultural events.
As the lead singer and composer of Bossa Nova Club, she honors Brazil's rich musical heritage while also supporting the development of new Brazilian music projects in Denmark. She also fronts O Baile, a high-energy Brazilian party band that unites people on the dance floor with infectious rhythms and authentic sounds.
Marcela is the heart behind many beloved local initiatives, including Brazilian Nights at Hotel Zoku, open jam sessions, and venue bookings for musicians, all of which help strengthen Copenhagen's Brazilian music scene.
Her community work extends far beyond the stage. Marcela actively supports the Brazilian Women's Networking Group and manages the Brazilian Events group on WhatsApp, creating spaces where people can connect, collaborate, and celebrate their culture.
At Distortion Festival 2023 and 2024, she collaborated with Rolezin to bring live music with O Baile to the stage and support the event's vibrant Brazilian presence. She also helped bring the community together at Nakke Festival 2024, creating memorable musical experiences for all involved.
In addition, Marcela is part of the Brazilian Entrepreneurs Association in Denmark board - AEBD (Associação de Empreendedores Brasileiros na Dinamarca) to uplift Brazilian entrepreneurs.
